PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Our annual
Pancake Breakfast fundraiser is quickly approaching. Greg Thogersen is chairing
the event again this year and has tickets available. The Breakfast will be held
on Sunday, Apr 8, and will be at the Freshman Center cafeteria (behind Golden
Corral). We will also have our "satellite" breakfast at the First United
Methodist Church. Set up is 10:00 AM on Sat and please show up at 6:00 AM on
Sunday so we can get prepared to serve at 7:00 AM.

scholarships on May 17 at OHS Scholarship Night.
DAY OF PRAYER: For the second year,
we will assist the Okeechobee Ministerial Association with the National Day of
Prayer on May 3 at the Courthouse. In lieu of our regular meeting, we will
attend the Day of Prayer and will provide sack lunches for all those attending.
SPONSORED YOUTH COOK-OUT: We will
have a cook-out on May 10 for our Builders' and Key Clubs at the Sports Complex.
Please plan to come out and mingle with our finest Okeechobee School
children and our club sponsors and enjoy a wonderful lunch of Hamburgers and Hot
Dogs expertly prepared by Noel and Ben!
YEARLING MIDDLE SCHOOL BUILDERS
CLUB: The YMS Builders Club has been extremely active this year. They have
raised $125 for the American Cancer Society, purchased school supplies for needy
students and donated $350 to the Student Council for supplies, raised $250 for
the March of Dimes and are currently raising funds for St Judes. Last year they
collected $3,000 and have a goal of $4,000 for this year. Any member
wishing to donate to this cause is asked to send the money to Yearling Middle
School. The club donated the fine money and collected over $200 at the
meeting on Apr 5. Congratulations to Mrs Sylvia Bandy and her 20 students
for such a successful year!
IN THE NEWS: Tracy Downing was
featured in the April issue of "Kiwanis Magazine" (International magazine) as
one of "20 Working Moms Who Wear the K". Congratulations Tracy! Also, our Souper
Bowl of Caring was featured in the April/May issue of the "Florida Kiwanian" and
had a picture of our members in their team spirit attire.
SENILITY PRAYER: Grant me the
senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into

Blair!)
