DEFINING STATEMENT:
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers
dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
NEW ADDRESS: We now have a P O Box
for our address to assure we receive all correspondence. The new address is: P O
Box 2754 , zip 34973.
FARM-CITY BBQ: Our annual Farm-City
BBQ will be held on Nov 9 at KOA with lunch being served at 11:30. Clayton
promises another wonderful speaker and the 4-H and FFA members always have
interesting and informative displays. Come out and enjoy a great meal and
support our 4H and FFA kids.
RADIO AUCTION: Our annual Radio
Auction will be held on Sat, Dec 9. Jim Vensel is chairing the event again this
year. Please contact businesses for donations. Donations need to be at
least a $25.00 value and the purchaser will be given a receipt to pick the item
up from the merchant.
DALLAS BRASS: The group, Dallas
Brass will perform Thurs, Dec 9 at 7:00 PM at OHS. The Board voted to help
support this cultural event and purchased $500 worth of tickets to give away on
WOKC and at the Farm City BBQ.
SOUPER BOWL OF CARING: The Board
agreed to participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring program featured by a recent
speaker. The program is supported by several NFL teams with the goal of fighting
hunger. All donations stay within our community. Watch for more details soon.
CONGRATULATIONS: Red Larson was
featured in a front page article in Oct 19's Okeechobee Times on his selection
as the Dairyman of the Year. Congratulations Red!
